Annual Conference Kicks Off in Bilbao, Spain: A Vibrant Blend of In-Person and Online Participation

Bilbao, Spain – The eagerly awaited annual conference has finally commenced in the vibrant city of Bilbao, Spain. With over 50 attendees present on-site and more than 60 joining remotely, we are delighted to have opened our doors to participants from across the globe. The atmosphere is electric as industry professionals convene to share insights, forge connections, and chart the course for the future.

The inaugural day began with a visit to the Euskotren tram depot in Bilbao, where attendees were treated to a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the operations of one of Spain’s leading tramway systems. From traffic control to workshops and carriage cleaning facilities, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the intricate workings of the network. Following the informative tour, attendees embarked on a scenic journey along the sprawling 10-kilometer track, soaking in the picturesque views of the Basque countryside.

After the enriching visit to Euskotren, it was time to return to the hotel for a quintessential Basque experience – indulging in pintxos and sangrias. Our president delivered the opening address during the meet and greet, setting the tone for the days ahead. Attendees were treated to a tantalizing array of pintxos, featuring a diverse selection of cold, hot, and dessert options, showcasing the culinary delights of the region. The NH Villa Bilbao has proven to be an excellent conference facility, for which we are grateful.

Today, Friday, the program continues with partner activities and meeting sessions for both working groups and strategic discussions in the afternoon. As participants delve deeper into collaborative sessions and thought-provoking discussions, the conference promises to be a catalyst for innovation and progress in the industry.

Stay tuned for more updates as we navigate through a packed agenda filled with insightful sessions, networking opportunities, and memorable experiences in the dynamic city of Bilbao.
