From the December newsletter of the Dutch umbrella organization of museum and tourist railways “Historisch Railvervoer Nederland” (HRN):
Chairman Pieter van der Ham writes “… A week earlier I was in Frankfurt at the meeting of our European umbrella organization Fedecrail. It’s nice to meet colleagues from so many countries and to hear that they are dealing with the same issues as we are. There, too, the focus is on the future availability of coal and guarantees for the continued use of coal as a historical fuel.
There are also problems in the other European countries with the recognition of workshops and the introduction of the new safety system. It is also nice to see how other countries are trying to attract new visitors and (young) employees. Fedecrail also has an exchange program for young volunteers. This program will be organized differently so that it can be more personalized. Information on this will follow.”
HRN publishes a monthly newsletter, which can be subscribed
