FEDECRAIL has received bad news from South Africa: The volunteer-run Umgeni Steam Railway in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, has been so badly affected by flooding that the damage cannot be repaired by its own team. In April this year, the floodwaters destroyed the trackbed after extreme rain. Consequently, no service is possible there between Kloof and Inchanga anymore.
