Ahead of FEDECRAIL’s 2027 Conference and Annual General Meeting in the Netherlands, we invite members to help shape both our organisation’s leadership and the conversations on the conference programme. Nominations are now open for the FEDECRAIL Board, alongside a call for ideas for the conference’s interactive session.
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: FEDECRAIL Board 2027
FEDECRAIL’s future depends on people who are willing to take an active part in building it. Member organisations and their affiliated members are invited to propose candidates for Board positions ahead of the 2027 Annual General Meeting.
Serving on the FEDECRAIL Board is an active commitment.
It requires time, engagement, and a willingness to contribute to our organisation’s development. Board members are expected to participate actively in meetings, take responsibility for tasks and projects, contribute to strategic discussions and represent FEDECRAIL in different national and international contexts. We are looking for people who are passionate about railway and tramway heritage and who are prepared to contribute their knowledge, ideas and time to help develop our organisation.
Diversity, equality and inclusion are important values for FEDECRAIL.
We aim to have a Board that reflects a broad range of ages, genders, nationalities, backgrounds and competencies. Different perspectives and experiences strengthen our organisation and help us better represent the European railway heritage community.
How to nominate a candidate
Nominations must be submitted by email to [email protected] no later than 1 January 2027.
Each nomination must include:
- The name of the proposed candidate.
- A short motivation explaining why the candidate would be a valuable addition to the FEDECRAIL Board.
- A brief CV of approximately one A4 page, outlining relevant experience, knowledge and competencies.
CALL FOR DISCUSSION TOPICS: Help Shape the 2027 Conference
Do you have an idea for a discussion, a fresh perspective or a creative workshop? We would welcome proposals for the conference’s interactive session that encourage participation and bring new perspectives to Europe’s heritage rail community.
The session offers an opportunity to share experiences, explore common challenges and learn from one another. We encourage ideas that will involve participants in the conversation and draw on the knowledge and experience of colleagues from across Europe.
Collaboration beyond heritage rail is also encouraged. For example, a volunteer with a background in fashion is developing a heritage clothing workshop through her professional network. Contributions like this can bring useful expertise and different approaches to the activities of heritage railways and tramways.
How to contribute an idea
Send your proposed discussion topic or workshop idea to [email protected].
Please note that FEDECRAIL cannot offer speaker or travel stipends.
